Search continues for violent domestic violence suspect in Beverly

BEVERLY, Mass. — The search continues for a dangerous suspect who sparked a massive manhunt in Beverly Wednesday.

At one point, police were going door to door with guns drawn, and the high school, hospital and a nursing home were all locked down as a precaution during the search.

The incident started Wednesday afternoon when police rushed to a housing development in Beverly to search for Charles Dixon.

Police said his pregnant ex-girlfriend lives in the development on Hilltop Drive, and they said Dixon threatened to kill her.

The manhunt led police to several areas in Beverly, and Beverly Hospital, as well as Blueberry Hill Nursing Home went into lockdown.

One neighbor told Boston 25 News that she believes she saw Dixon as the housing development just five minutes before police arrived at the scene.

Boston 25 News learned Dixon has been arraigned 43 times as an adult. They also said he’s a suspect in the death of another pregnant ex-girlfriend in Boston.

Police said Dixon lives in Reading and that he spoke with his current girlfriend there, but she wasn’t helpful.

Dixon is described as violent and dangerous by police.

Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to call police.
