Police arrest 2 for suspect heroin distribution in Worcester County raid

SOUTHBRIDGE, Mass. – Three guns were seized Friday along with cocaine and heroin during a drug SWAT raid at a home in Southbridge.

Police executed two search warrants just after 6 a.m. at 99 Cross St and during the search arrested two people.

According to police, 26-year-old Yomayra Vazquez was arrested in the third-floor apartment of the home where police also discovered a 9mm large capacity firearm, a .22 caliber revolver, a bullet proof fest, 27 grams of suspected cocaine and 25 grams of suspected heroin packaged for distribution.

In the same apartment, police said there were three children ages 10 and younger.

In the first-floor apartment, police discovered a Kel-Tec .380 caliber firearm, 10 packets of suspected heroin, cash and other drug paraphernalia. Police arrested 36-year-old Eliud Irizarry.

Each suspect was charged with possession of a firearm without a license to carry, possession with intent to distribute heroin and other related charges.

An arrest warrant was also issued for a third person who was not present during the raid.
