Texas couple arrested on weapons charges claim to work for the government

TEWKSBURY, Mass. — A Texas couple arrested earlier this week in Tewksbury for multiple counts of weapons possession showed up in court on Friday for their second hearing.

Francho Bradley, 59, and Adrianne Jennings, 40, both from Frisco, Texas were arrested on Saturday at their Tewksbury Residence Inn hotel room for eight counts of possession of large capacity firearms, among other charges.

Prosecutors, however, said many of the weapons were just props.

The couple claimed they were in Massachusetts working on some sort of business venture involving the military, but police are still looking for answers as to why they had an entire arsenal of weapons with them.

A Tewksbury detective testified at Friday's dangerousness hearing that Bradley kept saying he was on a mission working with the government but could not elaborate.

"He said he was on loan to Germany and worked in one of their undercover drug units," said Tewskbury Police Detective Patrick Connor.

In court, Boston 25 News learned that many of the non-gun items like the silencers, grenade launchers and bump stocks were non-functioning, or props.

"These are weapons that he has just accumulated over the years - bought legally, owned legally in Texas, licensed to carry - this is somebody who has a lot of military experience, a former LAPD officer," said Robert Normandin, Bradley's attorney.

Prosecutors do not believe Bradley and Jennings had a devious plan set up, but said they still have questions.

Police were initially concerned that Bradley may have been stalking out an area in Cambridge near last weekend's March For Our Lives rally because he had multiple parking tickets there.

Bradley's attorney said his client is trying to do work as a government contractor to showcase communications equipment, and explains that the military weapons and gear found by police were being used mainly as props.

"I've seen no evidence in hours and hours of conversations with him that there are any mental health issues," said

A judge has ordered both to be held without bail until next month's court appearance. Investigators say they are still going through the couple's computers and looking into their backgrounds.
