LAWRENCE, Mass. -- Two people have been taken to the hospital after being shot in Lawrence Tuesday afternoon.
The shooting happened around 3 p.m. on Brooks Street.
Police told Boston 25 News that both victims are at Boston hospitals in serious but stable condition.
In a release Tuesday night, Lawrence police said the victims are known to each other and known to the department.
"I would say, this is not a random act. We have good leads," Lawrence Police Chief Roy Vasque said.

The shooter is still on the run, although police told Boston 25 News they have identified the person. The suspect fled in a vehicle and police are working to release a description.
