Police found Mindy Tran on Hillside Avenue after she crashed into a parked car. Tran had sustained several gun shot wounds and was taken to the hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Lawrence Mayor Dan Rivers told Boston 25 News that it appeared the incident started as a drug deal and said it’s likely the shooter and woman knew each other but had no connected to the neighborhood.

The shooter fled the scene after the incident and no arrests have been made.

The Essex County District Attorney, the Essex Massachusetts State Police Detective Unit and Lawrence police are investigating this incident.
