Canton Police searching for 3 men after home invasion

CANTON, Mass. — Canton Police are searching for three men who allegedly broke into a home and pistol whipped an elderly man.

Police said the home invasion happened Tuesday around 11 a.m. at a home near Stoughton and Route 128.

The home owners reported that three Hispanic males wearing hoodies had broken into the home. Two of the men were armed, and the 71-year-old male resident was pistol whipped.

"When I went to the door, I saw him bleeding and all cut from everywhere. The head, his whole face was a mess. I started screaming," his daughter said.

They asked the homeowner and his 72-year-old wife about one of their relatives and demanded money; police would not comment if anything was taken.

The three suspects then fled the area is what is believed to be a black Chrysler Pacifica, with a fourth person driving.

Canton police said "the investigation is fluid" and they are working with Boston Police because they believe there was a similar crime in the city last month.

The male homeowner was taken to an area hospital with serious but non life-threatening injuries. He's expected to make a full recovery.

“I'm just glad that he's, well, alive and nothing major happened,” his daughter said.

If anyone has further information on this serious crime, please contact Det. Sgt. Pauli Gallagher at 781- 828-1212 or the Boston PD at 617-343-4328.
