20-year-old man missing from Franklin neighborhood

FRANKLIN, Mass. — Police are searching for a missing 20-year-old in Franklin.

Michael Doherty was last seen more than 16 hours ago in a Franklin neighborhood.

Officers have been combing the area behind houses on Phyllis Lane, where Doherty was last seen.

Police say he is 5-feet, 10 inches tall and was last seen wearing a blue Nike shirt with black pants and sneakers.

He was last seen near Phyllis Lane and Oak Street Extension around 1:30 Sunday morning.

When he didn't return home, police began searching and asked people in the area to search their backyards, sheds and other detached buildings.

We’ve seen police on Phyllis Lane centered around one home talking to other young men, possibly friends he had been with last night before disappearing.

Residents are asked to be vigilant and keep an eye out for Doherty.

Correction: Franklin police initially said Doherty was reported as 5-feet, 4 inches tall, but have since corrected that to 5-feet, 10 inches tall. This story has been updated.
