• Report: Tony LaRussa expected to join Red Sox organization

    According to the Boston Herald's Chad Jennings the Red Sox will announce Thursday that Tony LaRussa will be joining the organization. His exact role with the team remains unclear, but after after stepping down from the Arizona front office his next stop appears to be Boston.

    LaRussa won three World Series titles during more than three decades as a manager. He first won with the Athletics, then won twice with the Cardinals.  He was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 2014.

    The Red Sox will be formally introducing new manager Alex Cora in the next week or so, after he concludes his obligations to the Astros.
