BOSTON – Celtics point guard Marcus Smart is expected to be out for about two weeks after cutting his hand before Wednesday night’s game against the L.A. Clippers.
The cause of the injury was not announced until Friday, when Smart tweeted out that he “swiped at and hit a picture frame on the wall.”
Smart returned to Boston and was evaluated by team doctors Anthony Schena and Andrew Terono at New England Baptist Hospital.
I want to take this time to express my sincerest apologies to my teammates, coaches, and most of all the amazing Boston Celtics fans. I'm embarrassed and disappointed in my actions. I swiped at and hit a picture frame on the wall. I feel like I let all y'all down
