Two Merrimack Valley Conference rivals battled for the number one spot in the MVC. Tewksbury defeated Billerica 27-6 with an unstoppable running game led by George Matovu and Nolan Kavanaugh.
Both teams utilized their strong rushing attack, with Tewksbury heading into halftime up 7-6.
Running back Matovu got the momentum rolling on the teams first drive in the second half with a 57-yard touchdown.
Tewksbury's defense responded by shutting down Billerica's running game and forcing them into an unsuccessful passing attack for the rest of the half.
Nolan Kavanaugh put the game out of reach with his 82 yard run late in the third quarter to put the Redmen up 20-6.
With the win, Tewksbury moved to 6-1 on the year while Billerica falls 4-3.
