Expand On That: Boston 25 Sports Podcast Ep. 6 - Gene Lavanchy

Boston 25's own Gene Lavanchy joins Austin Bumpus on the sixth episode of Expand On That: A weekly Boston 25 sports podcast.

Lavanchy talks about his career in journalism and transition to working in news after beginning as a sports journalist (1:10 to 6:35).

Butch Stearns then interviews Brockton's own Matt Parziale, a firefighter who recently played in the Masters, and is now preparing to play in the U.S. Open (6:40 to 12:49).

Lavanchy and Bumpus then talk about the Patriots, who began organized team activities on Tuesday after a wild offseason in New England.

The two discuss whether Tom Brady's morale is really as big of an issue as it seems (13:10 to 14:42), and if the seeds planted about the overall team happiness are going to impact the team in 2018 (14:43 to 15:25).

After doubts started to creep in for New England fans about Bill Belichick on the sidelines, the debate begins on whether there's an issue to worry about with Belichick and Brady in a "no-fun" environment (15:26 to 18:50).

Patriots stories discussed in this episode:
Brady, Gronkowski arrive for Patriots OTAs
Patriots three-day OTAs begin
Kobe Bryant visits Patriots practice; Brady, Gronk not there
Bill Belichick doesn't want to talk about Brady's absence at Patriots OTAs
To wrap up, Lavanchy gives his thoughts on what Boston sports teams can do over the next year, with the Bruins, Red Sox and Patriots all in the hunt (18:51 to 21:40).
