BRIGHTON — The Celtics opened the doors and "cut the net" on their new training facility, introducing the public to the Red Auerbach Center in an orchestrated ceremony Tuesday morning.
Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker and Boston Mayor Marty Walsh were on hand for the festivities, along with the Celtics ownership group, head coach Brad Stevens and former players Tom Heinsohn, Cedric Maxwell and Satch Sanders.

The Celtics previously trained in Waltham, but a concerted effort led by community leaders in Allston and Brighton led the team to pursue a new future in the city.
