BOSTON — Brandon Carlo will miss the Stanley Cup Playoffs with a broken ankle suffered in the team's win over Florida Saturday night.

Carlo, a second-year defenseman, was also injured right before the 2017 postseason and missed the Bruins series against Ottawa.

Bruins GM Don Sweeney provided the following statement:

"Brandon sustained a fracture to his left ankle and is scheduled to have the fracture repaired later this week by Dr. George Theodore of MGH. He will miss the rest of the regular season and playoffs. Expected recovery time is 3-4 months."
