Worcester Police investigating dating app assault, robbery

WORCESTER, Mass. — Worcester Police are investigating after a man who thought he was meeting a woman for a date was robbed and assaulted.

The 24-year-old victim told police that on July 6, he arrived at a residence on Decatur Street to meet a woman in person he had met on the dating app "Meet Me."

When he arrived, two men came up from behind, assaulted him, and grabbed his wallet and cell phone, said police. The suspects then fled.

The man told officers there was a woman at the address and he believe she lured him there.
