Woman who got hospital visit from Gronk getting new heart

BOSTON — A transplant patient who made a plea to meet New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski is finally getting her new heart.

Lauren Meizo has been at Brigham & Women’s Hospital for months while waiting for a new heart and kidney.

On Wednesday night she released a video on Facebook to pass along good news – she’s finally getting her new organs.

Meizo’s story went viral when she made a hospital bed plea to meet Gronk ahead of her transplants.

Gronk met with her last month at the hospital.

This is Meizo’s second heart transplant in five years.
