Woman killed in Littleton house fire, officials say

LITTLETON, Mass. — An elderly woman was killed in an early-morning house fire in Littleton, officials tell Boston 25 News.

Few details have been released, but officials said the fire broke out at a home on King Street just after 5 a.m.

When firefighters arrived at the home, they said they were met with heavy smoke and fire.

“Upon arrival, we met the husband leaving the home saying that his wife was still inside,” fire Chief Scott Wodzinski said. “We encountered heavy fire conditions on the first floor.”

Wodzinski said cluttered conditions inside the home made it difficult for firefighters.

"The home was very difficult to navigate," he said. "There was a high accumulation of collectables."
The identity of the victim has not been released.
