Woman assaulted in North End, police working to identify suspect

BOSTON – Investigators in Boston’s North End are asking for the public’s help identifying a man suspected of an indecent assault.

The victim told police she was on Hanover Street around 2:30 a.m. Friday when she was approached by the man.

The suspect is described as a black man around 5 feet 10 inches tall with a medium build. At the time he was wearing dark clothing that resembled a security guard’s uniform.

According to the victim, the suspect said he needed to talk to her about an important issue, and she had to go with him immediately.

The victim followed the suspect for a short distance before he stopped and attempted to indecently assault her. Police tell Boston 25 News the victim was able to run away and call for help.

A picture of the suspect has been released, and anyone with information about the incident or suspect is asked to call the Sexual Assault Unit at 617-343-4400.
