FRAMINGHAM, Mass. – A Framingham woman is hoping the thief who broke into her car will have a change of heart after learning what they stole.
Brittany Tognacci said her car was broken into at the Framingham Stop & Shop parking lot on March 9 around 7 p.m.
"My whole driver’s side window was smashed, glass covered the seat and saw my purse was missing," she said.
One of the items stole was a heart necklace that contained her father’s ashes. It had been hanging from her rear-view mirror.

"I felt like a piece of me was ripped apart," she said. “I was shocked at how upset it made me."
Tognacci's father had been been fighting cancer for 12 years and died after having a stroke on Father's Day 2010.
"It’s just something I see every day and it’s just a reminder of him," she said. "If I was having a bad day or a song that make me think of him - I would hold it and it would make me feel like he was there with me."
Her purse was also stolen, but there was nothing of value in it because she had taken her wallet inside the store.
