Who is responsible for that sidewalk? This map will tell you

BOSTON — Who is responsible for that sidewalk? This map will tell you.

The website for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts has a map that tells you who is supposed to shovel each sidewalk based on the rules in your town.

It's a guide by city and town that answers whether or not homeowners and businesses are responsible for clearing the sidewalks bordering their property, as well as what responsibilities municipalities have when a snowstorm hits.

You can also view the map on the state's website here.

The map is organized into three tabs: Responsibilities of Homeowners, Responsibilities of Businesses, and Responsibilities of Cities and Towns. Once you choose which tab you want to view, the interactive map will load, and you can click on the town or city whose information you need.
