The officers found two backpacks in the attic, one containing a large amount of drugs and the other containing clothing according to the DA’s report.
Without finding anything else, the officers left the attic, but a short time later returned after finding signs there might be a person up there.
On the second look, the team of officers discovered a piece of insulation that was covering an opening into another portion of the attic.
The DA says Gannon was shot in the head immediately after moving that piece of insulation. Nero was also shot.
