GLOUCESTER, Mass. — A truck driver got stuck on the beach in Gloucester Friday afternoon.
A lot of people in Gloucester were confused after seeing a Pepsi truck on Pavilion Beach, but neighbors say it actually happens far too often - typically at night when drivers may not realize the road goes straight to the beach.
Gloucester Police got the call around 10:30 a.m. Friday - at low tide.
"He should have never been near the water because that tide is gonna come up and he didn't have much time to get out, maybe a couple hours because he was way down there."
A tow truck was called in and the truck was off the beach about a half hour later.

"It happens a good 20-30 times a year, maybe more."
The road leads right up to the beach and curiosity gets the best of a lot of drivers.
"They just want to peak to see what’s beyond there, but once they get down there they’re done - next thing you know... tow truck."
The driver of the truck wasn't hurt and police say he was able to continue his route.
