Storm stalls to the south; Mass. spared from heavy snow

BOSTON — There’s a sigh of relief in Massachusetts as our fourth nor’easter doesn’t deliver the powerful punch we were expecting.

The storm got stuck just to our south, which spared us from big snow totals, but we’re not completely in the clear.

Light snow is still falling in areas of eastern Massachusetts, including Cape Cod and Martha's Vineyard.

Snow may be falling, but it's not expected to have much of an impact during the morning commute. Drivers are asked to allow for extra time since roads will likely be slick.

The MBTA said it expects to run a normal schedule Thursday.

New York City broke records with this storm after receiving 30 inches of snow in a week. That breaks a record set in the 1860s.

But in Boston, the snow never added up.

There was some minor flooding and splash over during high tide around 3 a.m. in Scituate, and strong winds lashed the coast overnight.
