WILMINGTON, Mass. — State Rep. Jim Miceli (D-Middlesex) died during a Little League event in Wilmington on Saturday morning.
Miceli, who was 83-years-old, was attending the opening ceremonies for the season when he suffered a massive heart attack at around 10 a.m. Fire officials said he was transported to a local hospital but was declared dead shortly after.

Gov. Charlie Baker tweeted out his thoughts after Miceli's passing.

Miceli proposed a bill last year to reinstate the death penalty in Massachusetts and helped to obtain $100,000 in funding for Into Action Recovery in January.
