Sen. Elizabeth Warren looking to let states legalize marijuana

Sen. Elizabeth Warren is hoping to change the federal law which criminalizes the use of marijuana.

Warren has teamed up with a Republican senator from Colorado on a bill which would give states the ability to legalize marijuana.

Last week, Cambridge residents filed a lawsuit against Healthy Pharms, a medical marijuana dispensary, because they say business is bringing down their property values.

The lawsuit points out that federal law supersedes the state's decision to decriminalize marijuana.

If Warren's legislation goes through, that back-and-forth situation would end.
