Ribbons made to honor Stoughton students killed in crash

STOUGHTON, Mass. — A community is coming together to make bows in honor of four Stoughton High School students killed in a crash over the weekend.

Linda Rinaldi organized an event that garnered the interest of over 250 people, all coming together to make orange and black bows for the four students.

"The bows signify unification," Rinaldi said. "That we're together, that we're strong."

The event started off as just a group of local mothers, and took off on social media.

"It's a lot of love," Rinaldi said.

The ribbons will be hung around town to honor the four students: 16-year-old Nick Joyce and 17-year-olds David Bell, Erykh Sarblah and Christopher Desir.

Parents are making the ribbons to show their support for the students, but also to let their families know that Stoughton stands with them.

“I think that everybody just wants to let the family know that, even though they are going through the worst thing in their life, people loved their kids and everybody feels their pain," Jennifer Mullen said.

Mullen said that, while everyone is grieving, the goal is to make the families realize they're not alone.

"“Even though we won’t forget, it’s gonna make everybody remember," Mullen said. ”“That we’re with you and we’ll support you, we’ll love you, we’ll get you thru this and we’re here for you.”
