Muhammad was convicted of killing Boston Police Officer Thomas Rose in 1993 during an attempted escape. Prior to that, Muhammad was convicted of manslaughter for killing  a Dorchester store clerk in 1986.

Rose was 42 years old and a father of three at the time of his death.

He was released from a Massachusetts prison in 2009, only to be locked up again in 2010 for trying to run over Cranston police officers during a chase. Muhammad will walk free for a second time Friday.

"It's almost like a kick in the face," Allyson Rose Zammito said. Zammito was 5 years old when her  father was killed. "We all feel the same way. We're all heart broken and devastated and angry and we have no control over it...It's not fair to my dad," she said.

Muhammad is now 54 years old.
