Revere native found shot to death in Georgia

DEKLAB COUNTY, Ga. — A man who grew up in Revere was found shot multiple times in an apartment in Georgia.

FOX 5 Atlanta said that Joseph Livolsi was found in the Eastwyck Apartments in Decatur. Police have no suspects or even a motive.

Friends tell Boston 25 News that Livolsi was working on the new Godzilla movie in Atlanta, though his family lives in Los Angeles. He was a special effects technician, with credits including Pirates of the Caribbean, The Avengers and The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. He also worked in the art department on Titanic.

Livolsi was born in Massachusetts and graduated from Revere High School. He still has family and friends in the area.

Fox 5 reports that when Livolsi didn't show up to work in Atlanta last Saturday, his co-workers became concerned.

His roommates discovered his body Saturday, said police. The roommates claimed there weren't home at the time of the shooting, but also told officers they didn't call 911 right away, said police.

"We don't have any motives, any leads, any type of suspects," said Lt. Robertson.

Livolsi had reportedly found the roommates on Craigslist when he came to Atlanta, his friend saying the plan was to live cheaply and send money home to his family.

Friends in Massachusetts are planning a memorial service at St. Anthony's in Revere.
