Red Sox pitcher Steven Wright has reportedly been arrested in Tennessee on domestic abuse charges.

NESN is reporting Wright was charged with domestic assault as well as preventing a 911 call.

Wright was arrested on Friday night and released on a 5,000 dollar bond on Saturday morning.

In a statement, the Red Sox tells Boston 25 News they are aware of the incident:

"We are aware of the incident involving Steven. This is certainly a matter that the Red Sox take very seriously. It is my understanding that both local police and Major League Baseball are looking into this and for that reason, the club won't have any further comment at this time."
