Rain and astronomical high tides flood Mass. coastline, close roads

BOSTON — The supermoon is bringing some very high tides with it this week and rains are going to add to the problem later in the day Tuesday.

We already saw what are known as King Tides last month, and they're returning to the Massachusetts waterfront up and down the coast Tuesday.

Morrissey Boulevard had to be shut down in Boston as the King Tide started to crest around 11 a.m. Tuesday morning.

Rain Tuesday evening could, at times, be pretty heavy and could bring more flooding with high tide around 11:45 p.m.

Gusty onshore winds and astronomical high tides, widespread minor coastal flooding is likely across the east coast from NH to the Cape.

FOX25's Jason Brewer went out to the waterfront Tuesday to check on the high tides, you can watch his Facebook live here.
