Police respond to officer-involved shooting in Hyde Park

Police responded to an officer-involved shooting in Hyde Park on Thursday, Boston Police say.

Officers were on patrol on Westminster Street in Hyde Park. They observed a suspect firing a firearm at unknown people.

As they exited the police car, the suspect turned and pointed his gun directly at the officers, police say.

The officers then fired their weapons, resulting in the suspect suffering non-life threatening injuries.

The suspect and both officers were taken to a local area hospital.
