Police investigating violent car crash at Brockton gas station

BROCKTON, Mass. — A violent car crash at a gas station in Brockton sent one person to the hospital with minor injuries.

One of the surveillance cameras inside the Gas Depot station caught the entire incident on tape.

In the footage, a black car is seen pulling up into the station when a black SUV comes in, slams into two gas pumps and lands on the hood of that car.

The crash, which happened around 10:30 Thursday morning, surprisingly didn't cause much more damage.

Brockton Fire officials who responded to the scene told Boston 25 News that another car was also hit on Main Street in connection to this crash.

All three drivers were the only ones involved, and the driver taken to the hospital only suffered minor injuries.

None of the gas tanks exploded and no pedestrians were run over.

An employee at the gas station said he couldn't believe the crash didn't hurt more people.

"[It] could have been worse, thank God, thank God - it happened but not worse, nobody got hurt," said Sajjad Muhammad, an employee at Gas Depot.

Muhammad said that, while he's seen minor accidents on Main Street, he's never seen anything quite like this before.

Stephen Santry, a witness at the scene, described the incident as the craziest crash he's ever seen.

Santry was at the restaurant across the street when he looked up and saw the SUV hit one car and keep going.

"Then he went through the light and bounced off the gas pump and landed on top of the other car," said Santry. "He was going like 50 miles an hour! I didn't think whoever was in the black car was going to survive."

Police have launched an investigation into the cause of the crash.
