Police cruisers crash into each other, causing three-car pile-up

EAST BRIDGEWATER, Mass. — Two East Bridgewater Police cruisers were involved in a crash, which caused one of the cars to rear-end a pick-up truck on Saturday night.

At around 8:15 p.m., while traveling back to the station after clearing the scene of a serious accident, an unmarked cruiser stopped in traffic was rear-ended by a marked cruiser, subsequently rear-ending the pick-up truck in front of it.

Officials said preliminary investigation suggests weather was a factor in the crash.

All three vehicles sustained damage, but the extent of the damages hasn't been released.

The driver of the pick-up was evaluated by responding officers but declined further treatment, while the officer driving the unmarked cruiser was taken to a local hospital for evaluation.

East Bridgewater Police continue to investigate this crash.
