• Person dies after being struck by car in Lowell

    LOWELL, Mass. – Police are investigating after a pedestrian was struck by a car and died in Lowell.

    The crash happened around 5 p.m. on Church Street near Warren Street.

    Police are still investigating the cause of the crash, but say the driver has stayed at the scene.

    The pedestrian has been identified as a 61-year-old man. The man's identity is not being released until his family has been notified.

    No charges have been filed against the driver, a man in his 30s, at this point.
