Peabody gets $50K to test trolley service to Salem

PEABODY, Mass. — Peabody will test out a trolley service between its town center and Salem, according to a report.

The Salem News reports Massachusetts has given the town $50,000 to test the service.

Peabody's mayor says it will give tourists visitng Salem an easy way to venture into Peabody. He says many visitors take the commuter rail to Salem and it can be difficult to travel to Peabody without  a car.

Some details are still being worked out and its unclear when the cities will begin testing the services.
