NH man charged in connection with mother's death

CANTERBURY, New Hampshire — A New Hampshire man has been charged in connection with the stabbing death of his mother.

According to court paperwork, police say Philip Nash, 21, killed his mother before dumping here body in a swamp.

His mother, Frances Nash, 51, was found dead in Canterbury on May 21 just two days after she was reported missing.

An autopsy determined that she died as a result of multiple stab wounds and her manner of death was homicide.

Philip Nash was arrested in Virginia last month on charges of stealing his mother's car. Police brought Nash back to New Hampshire Thursday night from Virginia, which is where police arrested him in May shortly after they found his mother's body.

His mother was a popular yoga instructor and police say she had been stabbed multiple times before her body was left in a Canterbury swamp.

The Attorney General's office declined to comment about a possible motive, saying any further details will come out at the trial.

Nash pleaded "not guilty" and will return for a bail hearing July 19th.
