Next phase of jury selection begins in Hernandez double-murder trial

BOSTON — The next phase of jury selection begins Friday in former Patriots star Aaron Hernandez’s latest murder trial.

Prosecutors and defense lawyers will begin individually questioning the jurors who advanced past the initial screening.

Over the past three days, the judge has dismissed 184 of the nearly 540 people who reported to the first round of jury selection.

Hernandez has pleaded not guilty to two counts of murder in for the drive-by shootings of Daniel De Abreu and Safiro Furtado in Boston’s South End in 2012.

He’s already serving a life sentence for killing Odin Lloyd.
