MIT student allegedly raped at party in fraternity house, police say

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. — A Massachusetts Institute of Technology student was raped at a fraternity party over the weekend, police say.

In a release to students Wednesday, MIT Police said they were notified of a rape that happened early Saturday morning during a Theta Delta Chi party.

The victim and suspect talked during the party, but did not previously know each other, according to the release.

The two eventually went to the suspect's bedroom in the house, where the student made it clear she did not want to have sex with the suspect.

Despite the lack of consent, the suspect had sex with the victim, who left immediately after.
