Methuen police warning residents of Craigslist apartment scam

METHUEN, Mass. — Methuen police are issuing a warning about Craigslist after they received reports of apartment scams from people using the website.

Police said in both cases the victims spoke with a poster about an apartment and agreed to meet up and give them money as a “hold” on the apartment.

Then the suspect disappears.

Police are searching for Candace Parker in connection with the crimes. Police described her as having a dark complexion and a large build.

Police are urging people to be careful when using websites like Craigslist.
