• Police say man critically injured after being hit by truck

    BOSTON (AP) - Boston Police say an 83-year-old man was seriously injured after being struck by a pick-up truck.

    The Boston Globe reports the man was in critical condition after being struck Friday night at Massachusetts Avenue and Newbury Street in the city's Back Bay neighborhood.

    Police say the man was in a crosswalk at the busy intersection when he was struck. His name has not been released.

    The driver of the truck remained at the scene. No criminal charges have been filed.

    A portion of Massachusetts Avenue was closed after the crash but has since been reopened.
