Manchester man allegedly drove on I-93 the wrong-way, drunk

CANTERBURY, NH — A Manchester man was arrested after driving down I-93 in New Hampshire the wrong, allegedly intoxicated.

Around 2:45 a.m., N.H. State Police responded to the report of a wrong way driver near mile marker 46 on I-93. Witnesses said the car was driving northbound in the southbound lanes.

Police came upon the driver on the southbound side, near mile marker 48.2, just north of Exit 18. The  2012 Honda Civic had come to the stop in the high speed lane due to an earlier collision.

Police identified the driver as Thomas Devareene, 27, of Manchester. Devareene was taken into custody and charged with aggravated driving while Intoxicated, reckless operation and open container.

Breathalyzer results indicated his BAC was twice the legal limit, according to police.

Devareene was released on personal recognizance bail and is scheduled to be arraigned in Concord District Court on Dec. 22, 2017.
