• Man killed in apparent marijuana-related shooting inside Attleboro home

ATTLEBORO, Mass. - A large police investigation is underway in Attleboro after officials say a 34-year-old man was killed in an apparent marijuana-related shooting.

Few details have been released by police, but in an early-morning news conference they said they received a 911 call from a second person inside the South Avenue home around 11 p.m. stating there were people inside looking to steal marijuana.

"It's telling how this marijuana is going to turn out for our Commonwealth," Attleboro police Chief Kyle Heageny said.

That 911 caller also told police that someone had fired multiple shots, hitting the unidentified 34-year-old victim.

He was taken to a hospital where he later died.

Police are now looking for a burgundy Jeep and two people who were inside. The Jeep was last spotted heading toward I-95.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call police.
