Former MIT student accused of raping sleeping BU student in her dorm room

BOSTON — A former MIT basketball player accused of rape will face a judge for the first time Wednesday. The 20-year-old man allegedly entered a woman's Boston University dorm room and assaulted her.

TIMELINE OF EVENTS

The Suffolk County District Attorney says Samson Donick and three other men were signed into the BU dorm building on Oct. 18 by two female students around 2 a.m.

At some point, the DA says, Donick and another man left the room they were in to find the room where a friend of the other man lived.

After entering about 10 different rooms on several different floors, Donick began sexually assaulting one female, according to the DA.

The woman told the DA she woke up during the assault and began screaming and ran away. She said she did not know either man.

THE INVESTIGATION

BU police found surveillance video of the two men in a stairwell. The men can be seen leaving the stairwell and retrieving their identification at the front desk where they were signed in.

The second man spoke to police and said that he and Donick had entered several suites and bedrooms, including one room where Donick stayed for a short time.

FOX25 has learned that at the time of the attack, Donick was an MIT student and is listed as a member of the basketball team.

Donick is charged with aggravated rape, breaking and entering with intent to commit a felony, burglary, and indecent assault and battery.
