Man accused of multiple sexual assaults in Granby

GRANBY, Mass. – Police have arrested a man they believe sexually assaulted two women then left them at the same location in Granby.

Police said the first assault was on Feb. 23 and the second was March 29. In both instances, the victims said they had been picked up in neighboring towns and driven into Granby where the assaults occurred.

After a description of the truck the suspect had been driving was posted online, a tip led police to 41-year-old Arthur Salsbury of Belchertown.

Police said Salsbury’s DNA was in their system because he had been linked to a sexual assault that occurred in Granby in 2009.

A third woman also came forward saying she had been sexually assaulted in Granby by the same suspect.

Salsbury is charges with two counts of aggravated rape, three counts of rape and two counts of assault and battery. He was set to be arraigned on Tuesday.
