Local woman pleads for return of lost wedding rings

DEDHAM, Mass. — A local woman's wedding rings vanished after visiting a spa in Dedham.

On Wednesday, Brittany Kessel and were husband Brad went to Fire and Ice Spa in Dedham for a Mother's Day gift. Kessel took off her rings during the session and gave them to Brad, who put them in the robe he was wearing.

"I went in and realized I had my rings on and I handed them to him and said can you hold these?" said Kessel.

By the time they drove back to their Bellingham home, it was too late.

"It's devastating. It's such a loss," said Kessel.

The rings are special to the couple and have been passed down for years. The engagement ring was passed down from Brittany's mother.

"Our stomachs fell. I looked at him I said do you have my rings? And he said no. His face froze," said Kessel.

Owner Anna Goldfarb tells Boston 25 News by phone that she was the only one who came in contact with the robe Kessel was wearing.

"Before washing the bathrobes I always check the pockets if there's anything inside. And there was nothing," said Goldfarb.

Dedham Police are investigating the case. They say they've spoken to the only other client in the area of the building at that time and they say her story checks out.

"There's absolutely no way it could've been there and I don't see anybody stealing it either," said Goldfarb.

As Brittany tries to keep busy with her 2-year-old daughter, she's offering a $5,000 reward and pleading with anyone who has her precious rings to return them - no questions asked.

"It just means so much to us," said Kessel.

Dedham Police say they've never had an issue with the spa before. They've called nearby police departments where there are pawn shops to see if anything pops up.
