It was an emotional meeting for two sisters as they reunited this week for the first time in 56 years.
Sisters Melodie Seidel and Lisa Dunn learned about each other after one of them took the genetic test '23andMe'.
"It was just unbelievable. I would hear this song- Sheila, Sheila sweet little Sheila. Every time I heard it, I would cry growing up because I knew I had a sister Sheila," said Melodie.
Melodie says over the years, she tried to find her sister, but never found any information. Lisa never knew she had a sister.
What a story. After 56 years, these two local sisters are reunited. Lisa (on the right) took a DNA genetic test & she ultimately discovered she had a sister. They were separated when Lisa was only a few months old. I’ll share their emotional reunion at 6 PM on @boston25. pic.twitter.com/pq68KnTBcP

"This past Christmas, my daughter gave me a gift - which is the best gift I could have gotten. She gave me the "23andMe" and said to me- Mom, you should really try it because we have had prior discussions about this," said Lisa.
'23andMe' offers DNA genetic testing. Lisa, who received the results only recently says opening that envelope and ultimately discovering she had a sister was the most incredible blessing.
"It was amazing. It was just - words can't describe. After 56 years, I found my sister! I love her. I'm so happy!" said Lisa.
The sister's cousin, Robin, is the one who arranged the sisters to meet and while the two say they're just getting to know each other, they cannot wait to get started.
"It's good to have a sister! Very, very good! It's the best....that you never thought you'd possibly ever, every meet and it happened!"
