LEOMINSTER, Mass. — Leominster police say they will seek charges Thursday morning against a high school student for threatening the school earlier this week.

In a Facebook post Wednesday night, police said the unidentified student was immediately removed from the school, and an investigation was launched.

However, the nature of the threat was not released.

Police said they were notified by the interim superintendent that the student has been banned from Leominster High School indefinitely.

"We are confident Leominster high School is safe, and there is no cause for panic," police said. "This student was dealt with swiftly by school administrators who immediately notified us."
Police said the incident is under investigation and offered no further comment.
