Police say Boston jogger was not attacked; large tree branch fell on her

BOSTON — UPDATE: Police say the woman was not the victim of assault. A large tree branch fell on her, and the assault report was the result of a language barrier.

Boston police are investigating after a woman says she was assaulted while jogging around the Chestnut Hill Reservoir.

According to police, the woman was struck on the head with a large tree branch. She described her attackers as two white men in their 20s with blond hair and dark clothing. One of the suspects was wearing cargo pants at the time.

Police say the attack was unprovoked. Though the attack happened in the area near Boston College, Boston College police said the victim was not a student or faculty member at the school.
