Hundreds gather to protest for Justina Pelletier

BOSTON (MyFoxBoston.com) -- Hundreds of people gathered on the steps of the Statehouse Saturday, demanding justice for a Connecticut teen in the custody of DCF.

Justina Pelletier, who turned 16 on Saturday, has been in state custody for more than a year after a dispute between doctors at Boston Children's Hospital and her parents over her diagnosis.

Justina is now at a facility back in her home state of Connecticut, but still not back home with her family.

Her father Lou spoke at Saturday's rally calling for others around the country to take action. The Pelletiers have a meeting with DCF and doctors from Tufts on Friday.

The Pelletiers hope to have their daughter home by early June, after another custody hearing in a Massachusetts court.
