Gloucester firefighters reunite with baby they helped deliver

GLOUCESTER, Massachusetts — Gloucester firefighters were reunited with the newborn girl they helped to deliver.

Amy Goulart got to thank the firefighters who helped bring her daughter, Selah, into the world last Tuesday.

She and her family arrived at the fire station on Monday to meet with Captain Barry Aptt, firefighters Kyle Benson and Michael Chipperini, and paramedics Jeffrey Romeo, Ryan Goodwin and Anthony Dellacroce.

On June 19, the crew arrived at Goulart's home on Leighton Court for a call of a woman in labor and found her on the kitchen floor in labor.

They determined there would not be enough time to get her to the hospital or even into the ambulance, so they prepared for an in-home delivery.

Goulart delivered her daughter, Selah, at 8:17 p.m. and both were taken to the hospital.
