Family has unanswered questions after brother's death

A family says they are concerned they aren’t getting all the answers to their brother’s death because of a connection to the district attorney’s office.

On Feb. 26 on this year, Philip Imprescia was driving on I-95 in Somerset, heading home after picking up some materials for his job as a union plaster. There was a file cabinet in the middle of the road and he had to swerve to avoid hitting it. His SUV flipped, he was ejected and pronounced dead at the scene.

“I got the call and just didn’t believe it, couldn’t believe, this couldn’t have happened,” said his sister, Lori Wilbur.

FOX25 has confirmed the file cabinet belonged to the office of Bristol County District Attorney and was being transported to Attleboro District Court when it fell off the back of a truck. The investigation has been transferred to the Worcester County D.A. to avoid a conflict of interest.

So far nobody has been charged or even cited in connection with Philip Imprescia's death.

While the months go by, the family feels like they are being left in the dark.

“The gentleman driving the pickup carrying material being delivered to a courthouse by the Bristol county D.A.’s office.  That’s why I’m very concerned we haven’t had as much information as we should,” said younger brother Richard Imprescia.

The Worcester District Attorney told the family that they are waiting for the investigation to finish before giving them more information.

FOX25 reached out to the Worcester DA, but since it is an active investigation, they would not comment.
